To grow food, we need land. For most of us, however, secure land access is determined by access to wealth. Communities directly harmed by colonialism, white supremacy, and capitalism face the greatest barriers to secure land access.

Full Plates Full Potential was founded in 2014 out of what originally began as a legislative task force to address Maine’s high rate of student food insecurity. The task force quickly recognized the need for a nonprofit and non-governmental organization dedicated solely to childhood food insecurity

The Collaborative will produce a regionally–sourced, Maine–processed marinara sauce for use in multiple hospitals, Department of Corrections facilities, and K-12 schools.
